Talking New oven fanatic here!!

Hello!
I'm totally new to this site and am just starting to look around. I built an oven out of cob (mud, straw and sand) last year and I'm wanting to build a new one.

I'm happy with my oven but I definitely have some modifications that I want to make. I want it to be bigger and prettier, closer to the house, 2-chamber, add some "counter" space, maybe a rising box.... well I have a lot of ideas

I can't wait to read what great ideas all of you have!!

Hi Leah, welcome the site!

How about a picture of your oven? We all love looking at oven pictures...

Well, I guess I don't have any photos of the whole oven on my computer (I still like film ) but I do have this one... if I can figure out how to post it. That was one of the best pizza's that I have ever made, it was so good. Crab, tomatoes, green onion and meyer lemon slices!!

I made the oven all out of salvaged (free!) materials with the exception of the fire brick. I built it in a day to the point that I could bake in it but it took a few weeks to do the plaster and other finishing details. I really expected it to fall down, I thought that it was just going to be for practice but it is still standing All the neighbors thought that it was a beaver damn (with all the straw in the cob) and it has been quite a conversation piece!

Welcome, and please do post a photo sometime! The oven sounds really cool (this from someone who has spent more than a year and more money than I care to say on an oven that I have yet to cook something in... but I'm almost there.)
