Matt,

We were in your town a couple of years ago and had a great time. You have a wonderful part of the world for an oven. Yes there is lots to read and ponder before digging the hole for the foundation. Good luck with your project we had Atlantic cod, bread and oven fried potatoes out of the oven this evening.

One thing that I did right on my oven was to put in more insulation than the minimum and I am very happy i did.

Thumbs up Re: Hello from South Africa :)

Welcome Matt

A good plan is to read a lot, make a plan, gather materials, read some more, design your oven and associated structures and start. When you do start be sure to post some pictures in the pompeii oven construction forum.

Welcome Matt, oven building is a sickness, but you probably already know that.
