Thanx for the links. Think I'll always be a noob at this - not ever gonna make a Pompeii.
While playing tourist in the USA's oldest city, St Augustine FL this weekend (established 1564) we happened upon a "Big Green Egg" dealer inside the walls of the old city. Their pizza stone seemed to be good quality and good thickness so we now have their largest - $45. Should be fun to experiment with temps and dough thickness to get that perfect pizza. Now we need a peel.
