Default Giardino 70 Kit indoor installation

I'll be picking up my Giardino 70 on Monday (luckily, I live only 100 miles from Marina, CA). Ours will be a semi-indoor installation (a covered porch) with the vent going thru the roof. The only question so far is what vent size is mandatory. The installation manual and specs say 5", but Forno Bravo sales folks say 6", so I guess I'll go with the 6". I bought the kit without the terra cotta chimney, plus a 6" anchor plate. My contractor friend has installed many fireplaces in CA and will guide me thru the SS double-wall vent installation; he's already noted a number of errors in the installation instruction. Any cautions, suggestions, encouraging words, would be appreciated! Thanks.
