| We have started our 42" Pompeii oven in Millbrae. we have the slab built. We used 90lb. sacks of pre-mixed concrete. Rented a small mixer from Home Depot. Mixing and pouring took about four hours. The slab looks really good. We're planning on drilling and epoxying rebar into the slab where the blocks will be filled. This being earthquake territory and all. We also plan to extend the rebar 2" above the top of the last course to tie into the hearth slab and support the rebar for the hearth. |
