Yeah, I worked out the time difference problem.
But who looks that closely when following a link, it could have been Amazon.anywhere. It's my first digital purchase of eBook from Amazon and was expecting a comfirmation page with discount entries etc. after the payment type selection, like you get when buying real books. That one went through before I was expecting it to.
