| I did a search on baking stone on this forum, but didn't see anything come up on the first page of links for my question. I was wondering if an oven baking stone could be used for part of the floor in a brick oven, instead of soapstone or firebricks. KasinH. |

| The amount of mass in the floor is critical, well kind of. As long as your floor is well insulated and about 2.25" thick you'd be fine. Mark |

| Also, there are different kinds of baking stones. A lot of them are plain terra-cotta and just like they break in your oven, i suspect they would do even worse with direct fire on them. Fire bricks are cheap in the US. There is no reason not to use them.
