| Re: Pizza Rises In The West Last summer I had a chance to eat the Pizza at Apizza Scholls in Portland. It was excellent and the toppings were great. The toppings included owner made sausage. I believe the stove was not wood fired, but whatever the heat source, it came looking like it had been. The Pizza here was better than A-16 in San Francisco which was good, but not close to the quality of Apizza Scholls. I haven't had a chance to have a lot of top quality Pizza, but my experience so far has encouraged me to seek out places in the S.F. Bay area and Portland. I live in the sticks far away from what would be called "real Pizza". Fred |
