Default NEW HAVEN CT PIZZA --sally pepe modern?

I am making a quick journey this weekend to Rhode Island to see my brand new niece. On the way I want to stop in New Haven to sample one of three famous pizza places-Frank Pepes, Sally's, or Modern. I have never been to any of these places before. Any suggestions on which one is the favorite?

I had always been partial to Pepe's, though I liked Sally's, too. What I used to do was to drive down to Wooster St., and look for the place with the shortest line! I understand Pepe's has opened up a restaurant in Fairfield, though I can't attest to it's pizza (It is right off I-95, so it might be easier to get to). Never been to Modern, since Farifield County (where I grew up) had lots of very good pizza places, and we didn't need to venture far...

Modern may be your best bet...as far as getting fed in a reasonable amount of time...since it is not on Wooster Street. Although all three are fantastic.
The long lines are a good reason to build a WFO...so I keep telling my wife.
Enjoy and have a safe trip.
Bob

I'd have to agree with Bob. But Sally's is an experience you'll always remember.
