Default Just returned from a trip to England

I just returned from a trip to England and I highly recommend Made in Italy in London. They appear to have several locations but we went to the only one we knew of at the time, as mentioned in Lonely Planet, in Chelsea on King's Rd. I can't speak for the others but I assume they all have true WFBOs. You can easily see the oven in the back of the kitchen from the dining area but I didn't get too close a look because none of the cooks spoke any English and seemed quite confused about my curiosity, so I politely gave up and left. Good table bread and good pizza though...oh, and the house Sangiovese was excellent too.

I'm always curious about restaurants with true brick ovens: where did the oven come from? Did they build it or is there an actual company that goes around building them for restaurants. I assume that since this particular restaurant has several locations they must have a pretty solid method for cranking out new ovens when they need them, a dedicated or well-trusted builder of some sort. I asked, but they didn't understand what the hell I was asking so, again, I gave up. Even the hostess/waitress, who seemed to comprehend my question since she clearly spoke English, didn't have a clue where the oven came from and reacted as if it was positively the strangest question she had ever heard. Oh well.

Cheers!

Looks like a commercial modular oven to me:

Here's FB's version of what I think it is, from the look of it.

Nice brickwork arch in front: that's a nice style.

I saw that photo too, but that isn't the oven in the restaurant I went to. I could clearly see bricks lining the inside of the oven I was eating from. I take your point though.
