Default Paella for the natives

Have you tried making an ethnic dish for natives?

I was very nervous over making this paella for our Valenciano friends....
....almost all shellfish, a monkfish (Rape) and some rabbit.

I was proud to get a compliment from their 13 year old daughter Alba though!

Juano did ask where the rice was as we seemed to overdo the ingredients for this one....forgot we were using the smaller pan....

Full marks XJim. It is a nerve-wracking experience the first time. I don't know how the Spanish react but Turks tell it like it is! We had a Sunday bring-some-food BBQ, a couple of weeks ago, down on the beach with friends. They and their families are hoteliers and there were 3 chefs in attendance. Great give and take on recipes and Hilarys kofte (turkish meatballs) were the subject of much conjecture and praise. Kind of gives you a warm glow, doesn't it.
