Its winter and its Chestnut time.

You have to score the nuts with a knife otherwise they will explode when cooking.

Id love to show some pics of them cooked but we ate them.

To cook they need very high heat, they love heat.
Just before the nuts burst into flame is when they are done.

About this time last year I cooked some chestnuts in my mobile oven and forgot to cut the outer shell. They exploded and blew the door off.
