| After a few messed up goes with out a peel mine finally arrived earlier this week. the first results while delicious were not so apealing to the eye, was using my BBQ flipper to get the pizzas in and out with mixed results. putting them in spilling toppings on the cooking floor and taking them out ripping the bases!! these photos show the benifit of the peel!! handy tool that i dont know how id managed with out!! |

| True story Mick, I just gave the peel a light sanding to remove the old built up flour and the like and did notice the cut marks but I feel they add character!! |

| Gudday I read somewear that someone had made a stack of serving boards in the shape of pizza peels so your could serve cut you pizza and eat off ... no worries. Recon if a sheet of 8mm ply comes my way I'll make a few of those. Just thought I'd mention my wooden peel, well floured is for puting the raw pizza in the oven. I use a metal peal for removing the finished product. I also have a coupla mates who only use metal peels....there is no right or wrong just what suits you i recon.... Regards Dave |

| I only use the wood peel to put the toppings on and slide the pizza onto the oven floor. After that, I use a small 8" round "turning peel" (looks like a 30" long loly-pop ) to kinda rotate the pizza once to get the other side facing the hotter embers and when the pizza is done a minute later, the crust is firm enough to use that same small "turning peel" to remove the pizza and put it onto the pizza serving tray or wood board to cut. I noticed you said you used your bbq flipper for that with mixed results. Someone bought me a long-handled squared off, steel pizza peel for xmas and that was the last thing I needed (another big "placing-peel") so I cut it with tin snips into another more useful 10" round "turning peel" then hammered and sanded the edges and now I can turn or rotate pizzas and remove them from anywhere in the oven. As Dave said, no right or wrong way, just a bunch of good ideas. -dino

| Dino, yah the BBQ flipper was pre wooden peel. Going from a flipper to a peel was like going from a toyota to a lamborghini!! But i got threw my first season with the one peel. I'd use it to top the pizzas on,slide them in the oven and to turn and pull them out of the oven. It's definitely got character, scorched, cut, floured and unfortunately split in a couple of spots... Just looking at peels online at mo. Ideally looking for a round metal turning peel but no real luck, I like the idea of grabbing a square one and custom cutting to suit. Cheers, -kiwi |

| Well, how about a pic or two, and advertise/promote the seller so that we can share their goods. I might get another one for a good friday pizza fest. Neill
