Default Cabbage, Kale and Bread Soup

Picked a monster cabbage out of the garden I wanted to make this fantastic soup....and i cheated on my WFO. Phil was out and I did not want to fire up the oven for just one thing so I turned on the conventional oven (first time in a VERY LONG time!) and made a fantastic soup. Its a Jamie Oliver recipe, I changed it a bit by using bacon not pancetta. On his TV show he does this in his WFO. You can see the whole process on our blog. GIVE THIS A TRY...it is SOOOOOO good!!

Hi Malinda!

I have done that soup as well and it IS exceptional. I love to use my aging sourdough (i.e. 4-5 days out after baking) in soups and bread salads. It really adds flavor.

Down here in Texas, with temps at 90, soup isn't as appealing as it probably is in Rhode Island right now. I will welcome some cooler weather to make that soup!

Thanks for reminding me!
Jay
