| After 2 years of thought and drawing sketches things are starting to happen. Just made the inner arch template and done a dry assembly.Gap at top will accomadate firework joints. The bricks have to be cut for half bond and flue penetration has to be marked and cut in along with toothings to key high temp concrete in the dome. |

| Well, at first blush, it looks like your dome may be too high? Although, if you put the floor within the bricks that will make it shorter which would better. Second, you show a double thick arch. That is going to take along time to heat up. For the size you're showing, I don't think that would be advisable. You haven't given much extra info besides the pictures, so just going off what I'm seeing.

| The inner arch is only single skin one of the photos was at the refractory store where I set out a second course to get an idea of what I would need in clay bricks for the facade. The inner arch is well within the 60.8 to 63% formula to suit a metre dome with a 6""soldier course. But thanks for the advice Thats what the forum is all about. |
