| So even if i had the widest chimney in town, it would count for verry little if it did not have sufficient height to draw well? I guess this is where the post about 'chimney height' comes in? I have the width (let's say 8" by 8"). |

| Yes, chimneys work by differential in temperature. That's why they work better when the firebox heats up, and why indoor chimneys in the winter draw so well. The taller the chimney, the more temperature difference. My chimney is almost 20 feet high, and I still get gusts of smoke out the door on drafty days. |
