Default New in Summerland, BC, Canada

I'm just starting to plan my oven. I'm interested in hearing from others who have built, or are building an oven in Canada, especially BC.
I am wondering if I can open up the other end of the stand without harming the structural integrity of the stand.
Also, can you build with used firebricks?
Any help in the planning dept would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Tom
