Default Insulation Q for those who built with cement cladding

Hi All,

This is a question for those who have built (or who are building and have read about) an oven with cement cladding (i.e. allen scott and /or rado hand designed oven)

I'm wondering if you also put down fire blankets between cement cladding dome and the loose vermiculite/perlite layer.

For those who just put vemiculite ontop of the cement cladding,, how does the oven perform and would you recommend adding a layer of fire blanket?

I'm running low on funds and trying to decide if i need the fire blanket or not .....

Any comments / suggestion appreciated.

Thanks in advance

you can do it without the fire blanket, i did...but you can probably find that at some appliance junkyard for cheap.
