Default Heating the room?

We would love to have a small pizza oven but be able to start a small fire and just put some heat in the room on those cold winter days. We will be putting on a small addition (ourselves, we built our own house, not a problem).

Is this realistic? Only enough room for one thing oven or wood stove. Not gonna rely on it but was wondering about if it would put out heat.

Our pizza oven (a Forno Bravo Casa model) is in our kitchen. It does throw radiant heat when you have the fire blazing during preheating, but because of the placement of the flue and the insulation around the oven it is not an efficient room heating device. Once the fire dies down to coals it does not add significant heat to the room.

To match the heat output of our wood stove would require an enormous amount of wood in the oven.

Just to add on to the previous post by tschaefges, pizza ovens are designed to retain heat, not radiate heat. A really well designed and built pizza oven won't heat your room at all.
