| Greetings All, wondering if there are any builders in the North Texas area who may wish to share their knowledge. I am looking to begin building in March/April and would love to see an oven in progress. Thank You, Gavin aka Roadkyng |

| Hi Gavin and welcome to the group. There are several regular members contributing to the forum from Texas, but I'm not sure of who is from the north. Since Texas is reasonably small in size, (as we have cattle stations here in Aus that are larger than the whole of Texas), they can't be far from you. Check out some of the other builds for ideas and inspiration. Ask the group questions if you need more specific info. Cheers. Neill

| Hi RoadKyng, This is my first post, as I just registered for this forum today. I was interested in your post, as I am just looking into stone ovens myself. I live about an hour south of Dallas, so I will be interested in seeing what information comes to you. I have never personally seen a stone-oven at work, so I too would love to see one in action. I will come back to this thread to see what transpires. Thanks, Mary |

| Welcome Mary, it is wonderful having women coming on board and getting into their oven planning and building. I think that I need to keep a list as your numbers are on the increase. Anyway, have a good look and read then come back with some questions and information on what you would like to achieve, either with just an oven or the 'works and jerks' so as we say here. Cheers. | Hi Mary, where might you be? I am just south of Forney, off I-20. I also heard from a fellow member that is in Cedar Hill. We should be able to share experiences. As I build, you are more than welcome to come out and see my progress. In Rockwall, there is a restaurant called Zenata's that has a large Pompei oven. They cook all their pizza's and most of their other entree's in it. It is a great place to eat. Neat thing is they opened a market where you can buy all the ingredients they use so we will have a ready source for great cheese and meats for our pizzas.
