| I got a nice fire going today and tried cooking pizza for the first time in my new brick oven! My main problem was cleaning the oven floor after the burning woods are moved to the side and right before the pizzas go in--what do I do with the black ashes? What can I use to move them so that the center will be clean enough? A lot of the woods did turn white but there were still some black ashes on the floor that made the bottom of my pizzas pretty black... Thanks in advance! |

| A lot of guys use a piece of pipe to blow the ashes away from the area. You can also use a damp rag or mop for a quick swipe. If you use a brush, be sure to use a copper brush, not a wire brush. Good Luck Bruce

| You should not have black "ashes". Ashes are almost white, charcoal is black. You probably need to burn hotter/longer.

| Didn't we just have this identical discussion this week? http://www.fornobravo.com/forum/f10/...ing-14566.html (cleaning ash before cooking)

| Yup, he posted again and received excellent answers from the forum. I was working from oldest to newest and missed the second post.
