Refractory mortar for oven dome
I am ready to build the oven dome and have noticed that there are different formulas for refractory mortar. The one listed in the Forno Bravo plans calls for, 8 parts sand, 3 portland, 2 fireclay . I searched the past postings and saw a formula that called for 1 part Porland, 3 sand, 1 fireclay, 1 lime, Which would be a better mix for a home oven used 1 -2 times per week ?
