Are those bricks at the front of the WFO and in the front of the arch bare bricks? and are they covered in the salting (efflorescence)?
If so then the problem is the bricks.

If the bricks had of had salt in them they would have glazed on firing.

And yet the bricks that are not covered with the render show signs of salt on them.

When you say firing do you mean in the kiln when they where made? or in the WFO? If its in the Kiln the surface of bricks are not glazed but remain pourous and therefore any salts in them can still get out, you see in on houses. If its the WFO wouldn't the bricks only glaze on the inside? and if they also contained moisture glazing would have no effect to the salt forming on the outside of the brick as the moisture will always try to get out when the brick is heated.

When they were made, a wfo doesnt attain the heat necessary to fire a brick.
