Dave's WFO door

I started building a door out of sheet metal and rivets.
I'm building a door with two walls that I can fill with perlite before closing it up.

I thought I would post some pictures along the way.

Lots of sharp edges there Dave. Hope you're still wearing those gloves!

Interesting way of attacking the door issue. Look forward to seeing your progress. Remember to post pics of any fingers cut off along the way.

I shall make great use of my band aid collection.

Quite extensive I might add!

A few more pics.

These are from Sunday, when the weather wasn't so bad.

And a few more from last night.

I had a little time to work on it last night. Inside the house!;)

I've been thinking of covering one side with copper, and after I used one half as a door on Sunday, (it got colored from the smoke). I am definitely going to cover one side now!

Very nice work. I like the way the rivets look.

just finished my door, made it out of a piece of soap stone . bolted a small stainless angle to the bottom to keep it verticle . also added a couple of stain less handles with wood over the handles for handling .this door is heavy but is easily slid out of the way and holds the heat very well

Yeah.. I was a bit worried about the rivets, but I think they add some character.
I can't wait to smoke em up a bit, and get some color on em.

Do you have any pics.

I would enjoy seeing some, if you do!
