Congradulations Dave! Looks great to me. You say it is far from perfect, but I bet that attitude changes a bit when the pizzas and such come sliding out. We tend to be our own worst critic. Be proud!
I can't wait to be done. Fact is, this project seems to have consumed me. At this time last year, I salmon fished at least four days a week. Haven't even been out once yet. When I'm not out there working on it, I'm thinking about it. I NEED to be done.

P.S. Can't wait for the pizza party, but I don't think I'll be bringing the smoked salmon.

Yeah... I'm usually hard on myself.

I wish it could of been a bit better, but I worked with what I had. I am sure it will cook wonderfully!

Thanks for the input. I appreciate it!

I love to fish too, I can't believe you aren't salmon fishing. I have always wanted to do that.
I usually chase schooling white bass when I can.
Fun stuff. Only a pound or two, but I've caught 50 in less than two hours on more than one occasion. Man, it's a blast when they are all hitting bait fish on the surface!

And yes the oven does become an obsession! But a fun one~!
Hard work I must admit, but very satisfying.

Dave, you have done a phenomenal job working with what you have available.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed Dave's spreadsheet; it's worth a look. This guy built a stand and dome for under $650USD. I find that pretty remarkable. We won't include depreciation on your body due to the cuts and bruises .

Keep up the good work, your posts are inspiring people to build pizza ovens!

I freaking ran out of bricks today, and can't get any until Moday.

I just needed about 5 more to complete the two outside arches and flue hole.

Sad day in dave land.

I'll post some pics tomorrow!

I just got a new camera, so hopefully the quality will be much better.

You have my sympathy...

I'm stuck for today as well, because I need to cut one brick to be able to do the archway... and we have a nasty noise-ophobic neighbour.

As promised here are some photos of the arch.

I was short 2 bricks to complete the arch.

And about 3 bricks to fill in the sides.

I built a form for the arch. I've also included some pics of it as well.
Bring on Monday(did i just say that), (yeah I did)... The brick store opens then.
