Holy cow! your first post was August 2nd and 32 days later your are closing a very nice dome.

Dont let that get out to the world. You make a lot of us look lazy or inept, or both. I think it took me six months or more.

Very nice.

Thanks. To me it feels so much longer because I finished the plinth nearly 2 months before I started the oven. That two months felt like forever

I got the keystone cut and in place and cleaned everything up. The oven is small enough that I can reach the back if I stretch, no chance of all of me fitting in the door like with some bigger ovens

I had some unexpected things to do today so I couldn't get the outer-arch built like I wanted to, but I got the parts of the form cut.

Thanks

The weather today was miserable so rather than do the arch I put my halogen floodlight in the dome to start curing. Before starting this morning the surface temp of the oven was around ~10c/50f, after 12 hrs with the lamp it was a fairly consistent ~30c/86f.

Nothing quite like sticking your head into the newly completed dome for that 'did I really do that' moment, multiple pics and a quick look around for someone to show!
It looks good, you have to be happy with your efforts.

Once again I've been outwitted by arch geometry! I got about half way through cutting/building when I saw what was going to happen, but I decided that I wasn't going to waste time on something that nobody else is going to see. The arch is going to be covered and isn't going to be load-bearing, so I'm not bothered by the weirdness.

Cutting the tapers was a pain. I had about 2mm clearance between the brick and the blade cowling of the saw. I didn't like having my fingers so close to the blade so I used a clamp to push them through. The saw didn't like the full length cuts, I had to go very very slowly or else it was trying to grab the brick. After I'm completely finished I'm going to look into getting the saw overhauled before I could try to sell it on, but if it was unserviceable I wouldn't be sad about dumping it, this week it paid for itself vs what it would have cost to rent for all this time.

I'm going to leave the arch form in place for a few days and then start curing
