Starting Over - Can I save the granite?

I am installing a new Premio2G100 to replace a competitive modular oven that I installed previously without floor heat stopping material. The previous oven worked well but did not hold temperature for very long after firing. The 6" of concrete below just sucked the heat out of it. My mistake...no one else to blame.

I am installing a larger Forno Bravo oven where the previous one sat and would like to save the granite top. My plan is to fill the cut out of the previous with concrete to the level of the granite, then place the heat stop board over top of both the concrete and the granite where the new oven is larger than the previous.

Are there any master builders out there that foresee a problem with doing this?

Thanks for the help! Photos of the installation can be seen at:
