Supplies in Minnesota

Looking for recommendations on suppliers in the Twin Cities area for things like Firebrick. I also posted on craigslist in hopes of finding some used firebrick. I'll probably do the same when it comes time to doing the outside masonry, I'm thinking some old chicago brick...

Thanks,
Shay

First vendor I found was Smith-Sharpe FBS and they gave me a price of $2.13 if you buy <100. 100-456 bring it down to $1.95. They also sell Mortar "Sairset" in 15#(gallon) and 55# (2.5 gallon) pails for $20.32 and $50.19.

Ouch. I was hoping to find someone for $1.. :)

The consensus is that you shouldn't buy wet (premixed) refractory mortar at any price. We've had people get it for free, and had to throw it out.

Ah, I didn't think about the fact that it might be premixed but it makes sense since it's in buckets. I learned long ago never to buy premixed mortar.. big no no.. :)

Almost everyone else has recommended Smith-Sharpe FBS.. looks like I'm stuck with them.
