| Honestly , It has been 20 years since I used this formula . I am a blacksmith and it is a standard formula to cast a forge base to use with coal or for that matter any fire source. I would use the cleanest sand i could get and experiment on a small scale and you will easily figure it out . I have heard people add vermicualite or ashes to make it fluffier .
