The porosity of different bricks has had me wondering for some time so I decided to do some measured tests. I was suprised by how similar the solid red and the firebrick were in both density and porosity, although the solid red took way longer to absorb water. I should have measured the rate of water uptake as well as the total.I have an idea that it is the porosity of the brick that gives a WFO that magic cooking ability. What thinkest thou?
