Well if its not stainless ... Then you will have to treat it like any other BBQ and let the carbon build up to protect it from the rust. Don't the fairer sex hate that.
I saw at someone home yrs ago a little sink cupboard affair. Basically a small steel cupboard on wheels. Sink on the top, tap connected to a garden hose, a bucket underneath to catch the water. Now I'm not saying to make one like this.
But you could fit one to a fixed bench.
Doesn't give you full wash up capability .... But you can wash your hands, rinse a dish, wash out a wash cloth.
Just a thought
Regards as always
Dave

Bruce- I just wanted to comment on the great bird photos on page 33. It must be a real pleasure to have this natural area in your backyard. Gary

Gary, thanks for the comment. In case you are interested, here is a link to an album of wildlife pics that were all taken in our yard.

Hey Bruce - Thanks for sharing the wildlife pics. They are brilliant. I have spent most of my life in the country and appreciate the small seemingly insignificant things that are there if you look closely enough. Many of the small things have exquisite details. Everyone sees the large mammals and showy birds but some of the frogs, small flowers and funghi are really special.

It must be a source of considerable pleasure to have that variety of wildlife at your back door.

Thanks.

Steve, as I noted in a reply to brickie, I probably should not compare wildlife pics with anyone from Australia. Seriously, we have enjoyed the variety of wildlife we keep seeing, particularly as we are only about a mile outside the city limits and in a developed area. Still, keep in mind these pics were taken over a few years and day to day we see the squirrels and small birds. Bruce

Funny how we both have the golden orb spider half a planet away from each other, probably by a different name though.

Gudday Bruce
We are certainly having an effect on those creatures about us. Remember the photo of the little rainbow Lorikeet I posted. Well those little fellas use to be a migratory bird large flocks roaming up the Eastern Coast of Australia following the Flowering and Fruiting. Now with the patches of bushland being fragmented and used for agriculture they don't migrate. Agriculture and introduce plants enable them to settle in one area. It has had the effect that say a "lorrie from Nowra in NSW is a distinct Sub Species differing from a bird from around Brisbane.
The large tree in my back yard is a used as a nursery by the local "Lorries". one adult will stay with up to 6 flying baby birds while there parents forage as pairs and return to feed there young from time to time.
Their still a flock bird and even though they forage in small groups during the day they come together at night in large groups.
Our large shopping centres here have a picture theatre, pubs, and restaurants located on the outside of the main building that are used at night, meaning that the outside areas are light till quite late.
The "lorries" have taken to roosting in the trees surrounding so they can socialise. The continuous screeching and chattering is deafening. The closest trees have had to be pruned otherwise its just to noisy to sit outside. The little "lorries" are the lucky ones that can adapt, but there are many of the small parrots particularly the smaller ground dwelling ones that are under threat from lose of habitat and predation by introduced species like cats and pigs.
Regards Dave

so that must be where the expression "pigs might fly" comes from.

Dave, do you have a better picture of the oven showing the storm door and the entire oven. I found this one on your thread. I am playing with a couple of simple ideas for locking it in. Bruce
