building materials in the uk
 
hi any idea where is best to get fire bricks etc in the UK and help would be appreciated as everyone just seems to want to pull your pants down where i have tried if this is covered elsewhere apologies I'm a newbie:)

Vitcas in Bristol has them. If you're in the north, there's Armstrong in Cumbria, and Kiln Linings near Manchester (there are a number of others in the Midlands as well). They're all around 1.29 to 2 each for 230x114x64mm. Don't know about anything near London...checking with a friend in the southeast.

Looks like it's worth the drive from Newcastle south for the bricks.

I found Kilnlinings to be cheapest for all the materials, brick/insulation/ect. My local merchant was far more expensive.
