| when you build the hearth slab, how do you guys get the cement up there? |

| Unless you are willing to build a staging area above the hearth slab (and you still have to carry the dry ingredients up) you are just left with lifting it up bucket by bucket. It's too small a quantity to get in a cement pump, which would solve the problem. |

| It isn't terrible getting the hearth poured. You can do it with large plastic buckets (Home Depot sells them), shovel fulls, or two guys can lift a wheelbarrrow. You'll get tired, but I can't think of an easy mechanical means that would be worth the effort. Any other ideas? James

| I grabbed a couple of friends and we lifted wheelbarrow loads up into the forms. We poured the walls and the hearth this way. |
