Default Oven draw

Here's my second video -- this one is on oven draw and how the vent and chimney work. My favorite part is when I turn the oven on its side; the professionalism would make Wayne's World proud.

They will get better -- I promise.

Of course the good news is that I now have 6 really nice 270 gram dough balls and a 900ºF oven, and it's 6:30PM. Not bad. :-)

James

Nice vid James. After watching your post and Ken's, it becomes pretty obvious that a nice high arch in the opening of the oven restricts the width of the smoke exiting the dome and directs it straight into the vent of the chimney.

A flat angle iron across the oven opening releases the gasses and smoke across a flat surface evenly, and without a sufficiently high arch or wide and large enough vent, smoke spills out the sides and comes out the front of the dome. Something to consider for future builders (IMHO).

Thanks for the video. Camera work? - Questionable. Narration? - Exquisite! Draw? - better than mine.
