XJ,
You are absolutely correct. I remember the day when I needed data from a company and had to wait hours for a fax to come. When I sent out a design, it was on a mag tape using UPS. Times have changed. Can you imagine building an oven today without the internet? Everything from finding brick. mortar, and even wood is made possible. I take a little pride in the fact that over 20 years ago I was involved in designing networking servers. Who knew where it would go?

Les...

Barcelona is my favorite city.....largely due to the architectural treats by Gaudi.....and the artistic environments he created.

If you get the chance....go!

Les, I remember calling my parents when they retired to Spain....they would always try to hang up because it was so expensive, even when we were calling them! (Actually when they first built there were no phones around....now cell phones!)

Now we are using Skype....computer to computer voice and video with my daughter we can see the new twin grandchildren playing right in front of us.....and it's free!

Jim,

When Carrie and I met (20 years ago), she had to call me in California from the bar in the Benidoleg (shovelling coins into the phone) because it was the only phone within miles of the house.

I remember lots of 20 second, $10 conversations. :-) Happy memories.

Sailors getting hit with $1000+ phone bills calling their girls in the States from Japan, and their leaders being asked "how could you let this happen?" when they couldn't pay their bills. Not one of my fondest moments.
Thank God for the intenet and cheaper dialing plans!
