Thanks; I'll give it a try. Love the WFO but sometimes I just want to bake a couple of loaves.

I love seeing all these posts from Austrailia. The only thing stopping me from moving to Austrailia is all the teeth that the wildlife has!

Hi Sac,
The main things that have teeth that might wan't to bite you are crocks and sharks and they are in the water, so we don't go swimming where they are.
We don't have things like bears, lions, tigers infact any big cats we don't have rhinos or any other charging animals.
But we do have a lot of Aussies that like to drink beer have fun and enjoy life, we don't take things to seriously

Hi Faith,
I sometimes put 2 split firebricks in my kitchen oven for doing a quick cook up of naan or pitta bread, they only take 20 to 30mins to heat up and work a treat

You do have some nasty Snakes and Spiders though.

All ten of the worlds most venomous snakes live in Australia.

The Ten Most Venomous Snakes

Redback Spider
Sydney Funnel-web Spider

And then there are box jellyfish, blue-ringed octopus, and the stone fish but as said these last three also live in the water.

Hi Chip,

You have been doing your homework, but I did say things with teeth not with fangs.
Chip more people die watching television than die from snake or spider bites.

When are you comming downunder? you could bring Sac the more the merrier you all can have a feed out my oven (crock, kangaroo, posum they are all good eating)

Anyway, back to the subject mini grill and using firebricks in your kitchen oven

Doug,

Have been two times so far and have friends in MEL and Perth. Next trip will be 2013 possible Barrier Reef and or Broome.

We will put you on the agenda for the trip to Barrier Reef. Probably would fly in to SYD and drive up.

Chip

Fired up Ned over the Easter break.

We have a fire pit that we give a make over to every now and then and last years version was called NED (because of his metal amour) short for the Australian bush ranger Ned Kelly
We cooked some marinated steak and couple of cheese & chive filled flat breads, washed down with a glass or two of nice red.
We like to take the opportunity to cook something each time we have a fire, last week we had a big fire to get rid of some rubbish type wood and prunings so the next day we wrapped up some potatoes in foil and cooked them in the hot ashes.
