| I have been offered 200 x 42% Alumina content grade bricks to build a barrel oven as designed by Dado Hand (Australia) My question is should I use these brick or purchase the 26% Alumina. I jhave also be offered an arch made up of 14 shaped bricks, this would give me a six inch rise over 32 inches across the bottom, would this be better than using square bricks. Help!!! |

| There's no reason not to use the medium duty fire bricks, if they are priced right. They are a little harder to cut, but if it's what's available, there's no reason not to use them. Taper bricks for the arch are nice, but again, it's optional stuff. Don't pay a fortune for them.

| The 42% Alumina bricks are cheaper than the 26% Alumina bricks, being new to this I assume the 42% are classed as the medium duty fire bricks. Is there a benefit to using either brick. |
