Re: Touch control Electric cookers We put in a touch control experimental glass top cooker 2 years ago when my son was working for a major whitegoods manufacturer decided not to put into production for whatever reasons. It was to be dumped but found it's way home rather than to the tip. I won't be able to get parts for it but it cost nothing anyway.
It has worked an absolute treat not missing a beat and would recomment them. With that said, don't sit anything on the touch panel as it will turn itself off.
We replaced our 30 year old Panasonic touch control microwave oven with a bigger new one. Took the old one to school for a second larger oven in the staff room and as yet absolutely nothing has been replaced in it for 32 years, not even the globe and it still comes in way under the safety limit for microwaves.
