| Pretty handy eh? My middle son, Derek is a welding artist- I think that's what it is called. He builds sculptues of metal. My youngest, Kyle, learned to weld from him. Osmosis, I think. Derek did some, but Kyle did most. I have almost finished installing the roof. It goes much faster that I thought. I will certainly finish tomorrow. I will try to take some pics. Maybe some of some sculpures too. dusty |

Like I said, that canopy has turned into a MAJOR project. This outdoor kitchen is taking way too long. I started 8/16/07, and have been working on it very steady since then. My enthusiasm is waning. dusty |

| A welding artist... that is so cool! Yes, please do post some pics of his sculptures! My most limiting factor for making mosaic sculptures is being able to produce a stable rebar structure to support the cement base. I'm very jelous, too

| Dusty, welcome back - that's one heck of an entrance, with that canopy structure! The Welding Sons did a great job and I'd love to see some sculpture pics too. Sarah |

| Ok...Here is a photo of my canopy 90% done. As usual, I haven't cleaned up my mess! Sorry.... And also some pics of my favorite sculpures of Dereks. The first is the lap-style resonator guitar that he made for his senior project and gave to me. It sounds amazing and plays beautifully. I play it almost every day. The second is a sculpure of me playing it that he gave me for father's day. dusty |

| Wow Dusty, that looks fantastic! Your oven looks as if its about to take off... And the guitar is amazing, too. I've never seen anything like that before... and I just love functional art work. Very cool! Thank you for posting it.

| Well, I have finished the bohemoth awning project. Very happy with it too. The counters stay nice and cool in the shade so I decided to install the counter to the left of the oven. On this side I have the sink and the beloved kegerator. Plugged it in and got our first keg last Saturday...Delicious! I am now working on installing the raised counter that goes behind and around the left side of the kegerator. More old pool table slate. I have aquired lots of it. Also recieved, as a gift, this antique drinking fountain and decided to add it to my project. What is really cool is that the patent date on it is my birthday. Not the year (1911) but the day. |
