Sad there aren't more great markets on the West Coast, Huh? Try Pike Place in Seattle for a laugh. Merchants tossing salmon 20 feet across the store for wrapping and sausages and other delictables to make your eyes bulge. Very nice!

I enjoy that location too, but feel that the character of Granville offers more great varieties. Nothing against Pike Place, being that it is a regular stop as well when I would head to Seattle.

This thread has gone cold, but I figured I'd chime in. For a more authentic experience than Pike Place, check out one of the farmers markets around Seattle. Lots of good, fresh ingredients. 5 days a week (SOL on Mondays and Tuesdays).
Fresh - Local - Fun — Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance

Also, check out Pacific Foods International. Bulk caputo 00 flour and great, dried herbs.
