How bout flour covered spam (fried, of course), with a side of corn, and a side of mac and cheese.

Now that's one gourmet meal!!

Corn, mac and cheese? Now your talking...just add any form of "real" meat and you have a full meal deal.

Note: My definition of real meat is a form that looks, smells, tastes, and has similar texture to what it started out as, OR truely taste good and are widely accepted as a food stuff. Examples: ground beef (hamburger), sausage.
Examples I will pass on: Spam, Mickey Ds chicken mcnuggets & mcrib, canned salmon, goose liver pate (foie gras - yes, just don't turn it into paste).

OK, enough for me. I'm headed for nightmares now, if I continue I may need therapy to get over my fear of these supposed food products. EEECCCHHH!!!!!

Guys,

Just in case anyone, EVER, has the misguided desire to actually open a can of SPAM, even to feed it to a stray pooch, revisit the Monty Python "Spam, Spam, Spam and Spam" sketch. It'll be a sure cure.

Jim

Reminds me of Monty Python........ Spam, spam, spam, spam (sung with a nice cadence)

No Christmas bonus for retirees. I don't think I can even afford spam after building my oven.

Like you you RT, my folks made it also. Never forget the first time I tried making it when I was on my own. Pulled out a cutting board, peeled the top off, turned the can upside down and immediately lost my appetite at the site and suction sound of what oozed out of the can.

My last thought on this Spam issue. Any dog owners in the group? Have you given your dog canned dog food? The Science Diet dog food I currently am feeding my dog is more appealing...at least I can tell what one of the main ingredients is (rice), I think it smells better too. Wouldn't surprise me if they both come from the same processing facility.
