Hi Christian,
where in Germany are you located? I am living south of Hamburg. I have an oven in my backyard and also an oven on a trailer. So if you interested...

Christian:

Here in the U.S., Monty Burns says "Excellent".

Have fun with your build.

Hallo Wilfried,
ich wohne in der Nähe von Moers, linksrheinisch, genau gegenüber auf der rechten Rheinseite liegt Duisburg. Bisschen weit weg für "mal eben gucken"!

Gruß,

Christian

Hello Wilfried,

I´m living nearby Moers, on the left side of the Rhine, directly opposit to Duisburg which is located on the right side of the Rhine. A little bit too far away for a "short visit". (although Germany is rather small compared to the states, this is a distance of approx. 400km)

Greetings,

Christian

Today I got a delivery of 6t of gravel, unfortunately the truck couldn´t get closer to my building site than 70m, so this is fun! I´m gonna sleep very well today, or, as we would say in Germany: Ich bin total im Arsch!
20 pushcarts of gravel are really straining. And the worst: It will take at least another 10 pushcarts to reach the required level.
Anyway, I will continue tomorrow, Feierabend!

Ok, it was another 23 pushcarts of gravel, great pleasure.
After that I built the form, but it will need some reinforcement before the pour.
The cement and rebar will be delivered on Friday, I could borrow a mixer, so the foundation could be completed by Saturday evening.

Hi Doug,

I tried to get a used mixer on ebay first, but they were all too expensive (or I was too stingy about it) and luckily it turned out, that a colleague had one. By the way, "Ich bin total im Arsch" would be translated as "I´m totally fu.... up". So don´t say this to somebody who understands german, it could cause some irritation.

Anyway, my wife thinks I´m going mad, but until now it´s fun so I will simply ignore this.
