Vacuum sealing tucker.

Fellers,
Any experience with the manual vacuum unit named "Pump n Seal"?
The advertising blurb reads well, and it would be invaluable when camping for storage of 'roo cuts. (Or bald-eagle drumsticks).

A search on vacuum sealing only produced James' question re cheese storage. Did I not search properly?
Thanks one more time.
Jeff the Ignorant.

Re: Vacuum sealing tucker.

Funny name, pump and seal. Sounds like, uh.... Ah, never mind. ;)

Never heard of it. We've got the Food Saver (tucker keeper) and one or two other types in the states. They're awesome with dry foods. Moist and wet foods make a mess when it the moisture gets sucked into the machine.

The bags or rolls that you custom cut are a bit spendy, but worth it if you have the patience to clean them out and re-use them. Smoked salmon fillets were a pain in the pooper because even small remaining bones would puncture the bags and destroy the seal.

I love mine Jeff!

Great for large pieces of cheese that can't be consumed at one time.

Not so good for ground meat, but it can be done.

The moisture, as George says, can be a problem.

Dang Luddites....

Don't you watch late night admercials?

Diversion Alert.

A 'Friend' left 2L (1000 gallons) of coke (the drink, by any other name), in our freezer.
About 3AM the house shook, Missus shat herself, got up and sorted it.Freezer door was blown open
(Onya, worrywort. Fellers, she's good.Case of 'has to'. hahaha).

Turns out that the 'Unnamed drink' needed to strut its stuff: blew the freezer door open (busted plastic at the arse-end also. Recoiless 106 maybe). Syrup over walls and ceiling. All terribly entertaining. ha fn ha.

So,Dangerously Delusively RedNeckerred Dave, I look forward to your time lapse of the 'Yeast Attack'. Be awesome you derro, teach.

Re: Vacuum sealing tucker.

I bought a Pump-n-seal some years ago. The pump is lightweight plastic and slid all over. If one were equipped with three hands, it would work perfectly.
I sent it back and explained the problem. I got a nasty reply. So, I bought a real vacuum sealer. Pump-n-seal sucks.

VAcume sealers are great! for the home use partially freeze your meats or fully freeze the sauces/liquids and then seal. Works great!:D
