Ideal hearth height?

Hi, my breadbuilders book recommends just below elbow height for the hearth. Having never used a pizza oven I'm not sure? What do you guys recommend as a comfortable working height?

Thanks

Richard

I built mine at elbow height, but I have worked others that were higher and they were easier to work. I have to bend or back up to see into mine, it is good to be able to observe without much bending.

Richard, mine is 2 inches above my elbow, I like the height. Also consider who else might be cooking in the oven; like your social director. ;)
