Going to Italy, Need Pizza Info...

Hello Folks,

We will be going to Rome, Florence, and Lucca. I was wondering if you could recommend a few good pizza locations. We are also looking for other restaurants that are worth looking at. It will be great fun, we can't wait to see the people, places, and food! We are also looking for a nice place for cured meats... not asking too much eh! :-)

I have been looking at favorite places on the web and Peter's book for info. I appreciate any information and will be sure to let you know where we went.

Thanks!

Loren

Interesting you say about wanting to seek out cured meats.

I'm no vegetarian, but I am somewhat squeamish. For me, seeing dry-cured meat in slices gives me palpitations and makes my hands go weak! I guess it looks just too "surgical" and the thought of getting my hand or arm caught in the meat slicer just makes me shiver.

I don't have an issue with minced or cubed, just thinly sliced for some reason. If I see anyone eating parma ham (for example) I have to look away!

I love most things Italian (and European for that matter), especially pizza of course, but their cold meat is not one of them.

Does anyone else on here have this problem? (Because I admit it is a problem.)
