Beer Can Chicken

I know its not from a brick oven but I'm going to imagine it was :) My BBQ will have to do for now.

The headless sumo chicken. Thats the way the sumo guys squat before they start fighting.

Hi Graham Greenbacks,

You got that right! You just want to rip off a leg and grab that other can of beer!

David,

It's that not how us Brits are meant to serve beer - warm?

Only jealous that we don't have wall to wall sunshine.

I haven't tried the beer can chicken, but it does seem a waste to stick a coldie up a chooks bum.

When I do it in the UK we call it a warmie....but you drink half of it before you impale the chicken on the can.

The beer can chicken is one of my fav oven recipes - we have to wrestle to get the chicken in the oven - it's a major operation (cue mission impossible theme) because the oven is a pizza oven, door is not high enough! First time we did it I left a smoking piece of wood in ...... talk about smoked chicken!!! Second time I did it 'properly' it was really nice!!! Only took about 45mins. Never tried it in a conventional oven. AND NO DON'T DRINK THE REMAINING BEER!!!!! YUK :P
