Received my box of Kaowool 2" x 50sf at work today. I forgot to drive the truck so I un-boxed it, wrapped it in white plastic and duct tape and wedged it into the passenger side of my bmw z4 and... got stopped by a female state trooper on the way home... "Excuse me sir whats in your package?" guess it looked like I was smuggeling something.. drugs, dead hooker, oven insulation... who knows

How much wood do you have? I pegged my meter at 968 degress, I'm sure it got hotter than that.

The reason im asking is I use regular 120v 71w UV lenes MR16 Halogen bulbs in my powder-coat oven and run it up to 1000f on a regular basis and they seem to survive quite happily at that temp. I wonder if they would survive recessed into a dome brick???

Spent most of the day making tools to cut bricks...

but I did get the first two rows cut..

here they are just dry stacked.

Wonder if I can do it without heatstop...Hmmm...
