It's true -- there is Vin Santo, and then there is Vin Santo. The stuff in the supermarket gets tastes like cough syrup.

I will ask about the Primitivo dessert wine. They say Primitivo might be the ancestor to our California Zinfandel.

great to see the handcrafted stonework....

it always amazes me that they worked the various stones by hand and created such works of art without the "modern conveniences"!

Oh my word, that is the absolute coolest thing I have seen! The outward pressure on the walls would be pretty intense I would think. Wow, I want one too. BTW, thanks for all the tufa puns. I like them as well...
