Yeah, you know a build is going to be special when someone does mitring like that on the forms!

I caught that too Matt.
I don't think I'm going to follow this build anymore. Not only am I getting totally jealous here but I have a feeling I'm going to start feeling inadequate with my skills too.

I hope you are kidding - this is going to be awesome to watch. It's a great setting and a fantastic start.

Mannnextdoor - it looks like the inside miters have a radius to them. how do you plan on finishing the island - brick, rock, stucco?

Thanks for all the kind words. The plan is to go with stone. We poured the top today. I will give it a couple of days and then pull the forms. This has been a really slow go. I have never done any masonry work before. I am just tiring to do it right.

I would say, did you mean "trying", but from my own experience I think you nailed it .

Thanks for the point. Sometimes things just seem to work themselves out. I think I will leave it there.

I removed the forms today. A few hair line cracks. I think it will be OK.

I need to summit more post on the forum. I will be ready to cut bricks before I am an apprentice. I wouldn't want to cut bricks before I am allowed.
