J W  | According to Dr. Edward Wood ( Sourdoughs International: sourdough bread starter, sourdough bread recipes, bread machine recipes) a pathologist, that is not the case. I wonder if the slight differences over the years is due to natural genetic variation that occurs over time thru successive generations. How long does the original yeast/lactobacilli live?
